Oh, You Crafty, Huh?

What did we do before Pinterest?  Were we all just mediocre gifters/housewives/cooks/photographers/etc.?  Why weren’t all these ideas somewhere on google before?!  Such time we’ve wasted! 🙂

Anyway, I wanted to share with you a crafty baby shower or diaper party gift I found on none other than, Pinterest!  It’s super easy, yet still thoughtful!  I don’t know about all of you, but I’m at the time in my life where all of my friends are getting engaged, married, having babies, etc. and it can get so expensive to purchase gifts for all of them.  I’ve turned to Pinterest many times for inspiration or a craft to make them a special gift.  It’s more meaningful since you put time into it and you chose a crafty gift that you knew that they would love and appreciate. 🙂

Diaper Babies 101

What you will need:

  • 1 basket or container that matches the gender or the nursery theme
  • 1 package newborn diapers
  • 1 6-pack baby washcloths
  • 3 pair newborn socks
  • 1 black Sharpie
  • 1 package craft crazy eyes

(Optional)

Bath time essentials, board books, rattles, thermometer, baby nail clippers, brush, etc. for sprucing up!

Directions:

1.) Fill the bottom of the basket or containter with diapers, setting 6 diapers aside

2.) Roll the first diaper starting with top part of the diaper

3.) Secure the rolled diaper by wrapping and swadling the first washcloth around the diaper

4.) Place one of the socks on top of the diaper

5.) Repeat steps 2-4, five more times

6.) Arrange the diaper babies and any extras gifts into the basket

7.) Use a Sharpie to draw sleeping babies on three of the diaper babies

8.) Attach the craft crazy eyes to the other three diaper babies

9.) I would suggest wrapping this in celophane and tying a nice ribbon around the top

Like I said, quick and easy, but still thoughtful in the time you put into making the gift and the usefulness of the gift.  The mom-to-be can use all the diapers she can get, even the ones with some sharpie on them, and the crazy eyes will pop right off!  She can use the washcloths, socks, soap, baby powder, board books, and even the cute container you put it all in!  I’m really big on if the person I am giving the gift to will actually use it, and I know that this gift won’t go to waste! 🙂

Happy crafting!
